Tip of the Week: Get Physical

I’ve never once heard a player say – I lost the match because I am in such great shape.

When two players of equal ability play against each other, the winner is usually the more physical player. At elite levels, where physicality is more likely to be equal, mental toughness becomes the difference between a win or loss. For most players however, you automatically become a stronger competitor by getting yourself in better shape. Better conditioning gives you confidence and endurance and it will help you be a much better mover.

If you are in the northern hemisphere and dealing with bad winter weather, take this time to get the jump on your summer competition by hitting the gym now. If you are lucky enough to play year round, think about how you can fit just a little more fitness into your weekly routine and get the edge over your opponent in your next match.
